Preserving Fertility

Fertility preservation is the freezing (cryopreservation or vitrification) of eggs, sperm or embryos for potential later use. It may be advised for medical reasons, such as when illness or medication may compromise the health and fertility of the reproductive system.

The ReproMed Fertility team offers several options to preserve your fertility potential for the future.

  • Egg freezing (and embryo banking)

  • Challenging medical circumstances such as chemotherapy or radiation for cancer treatment, and other medical treatments may cause infertility. Freezing your eggs to be used later in either artificial insemination or in-vitro fertilization may be a valuable option before you proceed with treatment. In some cases, we may recommend creating embryos with patient/partner sperm – preserving embryos for the future is called embryo banking. ReproMed Fertility will bring urgency to accommodating patients needing assistance in these situations.

  • Egg freezing for non-medical reasons

  • Have the freedom to choose when to start your journey to parenthood. Elective egg freezing is also a service ReproMed Fertility provides.

  • Sperm freezing

  • For males as well, significant medical circumstances such as chemotherapy or radiation for cancer treatment, and other medical treatments may cause infertility. ReproMed Fertility will bring urgency to accommodating patients needing assistance in these situations.

Other individuals who benefit from sperm freezing include those in high-risk occupations, individuals planning to undergo vasectomy, and those planning gender transition.
